LensTagger makes use of the utility EXIFTool which seems to be able to display all data in an image file. Despite using the identical lens name, the profiles do not seem to function correctly. I've experienced difficulties with LR's automated profiles when attempting to use LensTag to alter the EXIF data of my images. I apologize for not providing much assistance, but I too have been curious about this issue. This is a good resource for coding though some of the newer lenses won't be on there. Unfortunately, even though LensTagger seems to successfully change the lens information in the EXIF, when I switch to the Lens Corrections panel in Develop and tick the Enable Profile Corrections box, it immediately picks up the profile for the relevant Leica lens, not the CV or ZM one that I’ve specified in LensTagger. Having applied LensTagger and saved the metadata to file, I would like Lightroom to then automatically select the correct Lens profile (rather than the profile for the Leica lens that the camera “thought” was being used). Having imported to Lightroom, select all images shot with a given lens and use the LensTagger plug-in to specify the actual lens used (as opposed to the one that the camera will have recorded in the EXIF data).ģ. Use the nearest match 6-bit coding (to give an indication of what lens was used, so that I do not have to remember or make a separate record).Ģ.
